For an instant on the run breakfast, just add milk or yogurt or prepack dried muesli as a snack. I use cold pressed sunflower oil with a very high oleic content. Ground linseeds can be added, if freshly ground.

Recipe Ingredients for Muesli

1 kg oats
65 ml sunflower oil
125 ml sunflower seeds
60 g linseed seeds
120 g almonds
180 ml honey
250 ml dried apricots
250 ml dried apple

Recipe Directions for Muesli

  1. Heat honey and sunflower oil(extra virgin).

  2. Mix with oats, nuts and seeds.

  3. Bake in two baking trays for about 1 hour at 160C, stirring regularly.

  4. Allow to cool and add chopped fruit.

  5. Store muesli in airtight containers.

  6. Use within two months.
