Recipe Ingredients for Moussaka

2 pounds 95% lean ground beef
1/4 cup red wine
1 1/2 eggplant
2 zucchini
6 oz crimini mushrooms
1 cup fresh spinach
2 cups grated cheese, Italian blend

Recipe Directions for Moussaka

  1. Fry hamburger meat until pink is gone; drain & discard fat. Stir in powdered spices: 1tsp or less each of cinnamon, clove, allspice, and nutmeg.

  2. Slice eggplant, zucchini, and mushrooms about a quarter inch thick. In a deep lasagna pan, build up layers: eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, meat, eggplant, zucchini, spinach, meat, eggplant. Bake 45 minutes at 350 Farenheit.

  3. Top with cheese and continue baking 10 more minutes. Slice and serve.
