Recipe Ingredients for Mountain Bar Cookies

2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup salted butter
1/2 cup whole milk
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups oats
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Mountain Bar Cookies

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or use the silicone baking mats so the cookies don't stick.

  2. In a large heavy saucepan over low heat, add sugar, butter, milk, and cocoa powder; stir until melted. Increase heat to medium-high and bring just to a boil, stirring constantly so the mixture does not burn. Remove from heat.

  3. Add peanut butter, oats, and vanilla; stir until well mixed. While mixture is still warm, drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking pans. Let sit until cool and the chocolate is hardened.
