Recipe Ingredients for Mostaccioli with Mint Sauce

16 ounces Italian sausage, casings removed
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chopped fresh mint
16 ounces canned tomatoes, coarsely chopped
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Mostaccioli with Mint Sauce

  1. Cook sausage, garlic and mint in a large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is browned. Drain off grease. Transfer mixture to a blender or food processor and process briefly until mixture is coarsely chopped. Do not over process. Return mixture to skillet. Stir in tomatoes, water and salt. Cook over medium heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until sauce thickens.

  2. Serve with mostaccioli or pasta of your choice.

  3. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
