Very delicious and relatively healthy pasta dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Mostaccioli & Beef

6 oz. Ronzoni Smart Pasta
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 dash salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp country crock shedd's spread lite
2 tbsp all purpose flour
1 dash nutmeg
1 1/2 cup reduced fat milk
4 oz part skim mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for Mostaccioli & Beef

  1. Heat oven to 350.

  2. Cook and drain pasta as directed, omit salt.

  3. Cook beef in skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally until beef is brown; drain.

  4. Stir in oregano, salt, cinnamon, 1/8 t nutmeg, tomato sauce and garlic.

  5. Alternate layers of pasta and beef mixture in ungreased 2-quart casserole.

  6. (If you're making this the day before or anytime ahead, stop here. Continue right before you're ready to bake and eat.)

  7. Topping:

  8. Melt margarine in saucepan over low heat.

  9. Stir in flour and dash of nutmeg.

  10. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly.

  11. Remove from heat, and stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

  12. Boil and stir one minute.

  13. Spoon sauce over pasta and beef mixture.

  14. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until bubbly, add cheese on top and cook until melted and yummy. (About 5 more minutes)
