This is a great "starter" green smoothie, especially good for those who don't like greens. Tastes just like a strawberry-spinach salad, only without the added fat and sugar from the dressing!

Recipe Ingredients for Most Basic Green Smoothie: Strawberry-Spinach

6 cup Spinach
3 cup, unthawed Strawberries
3 teaspoon Truvia

Recipe Directions for Most Basic Green Smoothie: Strawberry-Spinach

  1. Pour 8 ounces of water into blender. Add 1/2 pound of spinach (pack it down to fit). Blend on high for 1-2 minutes.

  2. Add the rest of the spinach (again packing it down to fit). Blend on high for 1-2 minutes, adding additional water if blender gets bogged down.

  3. Add partially thawed strawberries, 1-2 at a time, while blending on high (keep the motor going if you have a little hole in the top of your lid to allow this), adding water as necessary. You may occasionally have to turn the blender off and scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula (or dislodge berries if they get stuck in the blades - use a cheap spatula, in case of damage). Blend well, 1-2 additional minutes once all berries are incorporated.

  4. Add Truvia as desired, blend on high for 15 more seconds.
