A Moroccan inspired chicken dish, using some traditional flavors of North African cooking

Recipe Ingredients for Moroccan-style Chicken and Couscous

120 grams chicken breast
4 dates
1/3 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
1 red bell pepper
50 ml merlot
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 oz. couscous (dry)
1 tbsp margarine

Recipe Directions for Moroccan-style Chicken and Couscous

  1. Saute the pepper, onion, and garlic in 2/3 of the margarine.

  2. Add the chicken in pieces, figs, and wine. Add about 1/4 cup water too, to create a sauce and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

  3. While simmering, prepare the couscous as directed on the package, using the rest of tbsp of margarine.

  4. Serve together.

  5. *Less chicken can be used, or none at all.
