Recipe Ingredients for moroccan meatball tagine

2 small onions
2 tbs raisins
750 g lean minced beef
1 tbs tomato puree
3 tbs olive oil
625 g chopped tomatoes
1 juice of half a lemon
2 celery sticks
2 medium courgettes
175 g frozen peas

Recipe Directions for moroccan meatball tagine

  1. mix together half the onions, raisins, minced beef, tomato puree and curry powder in a bowl, knead to combine evenly - form into 24 meatballs

  2. Heat 1 tbs oil in a saucepan, add the meat balls, in small batches and brown all over. tip out excess fat, put all meatballs in pan, add cinnamon, tomatoes and lemon juice, cover and simmer gently for 25 mins until meat is cooked.

  3. Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in a large frying pan, add the celery and courgettes and cook until soft and starting to brown, add peas and cook for a further 5mins until tender.

  4. Just before serving stir courgette mixture into meatballs.

  5. Serve with cous cous
