A low fat healthy twist on the Monte Cristo sandwich

Recipe Ingredients for Monte Cristo

1/2 cup egg beaters
2 slices sara lee delightful wheat brad
2 oz canadian bacon
2 tsp splenda
1 serving 2% swiss cheese slice
2 tbsp Smuckers sugar free strawberry jam

Recipe Directions for Monte Cristo

  1. Heat griddle to 300 or pan to a medium heat

  2. mix egg beaters and splenda in bowl

  3. Dip bread in mixture until no egg is left

  4. Spray non-stick spray on cooking surface

  5. Flip after 2-3 minutes or until one side is golden brown

  6. Quickly heat Canadian Bacon 10 seconds on each side

  7. Put slice of cheese on top of one slice followed by the heated Canadian bacon

  8. Continue cooking until the flip side is golden brown

  9. Close one piece of toast over the other like a sandwich

  10. Lower heat to 200 or low/med until cheese is melted

  11. Cut in half and serve with strawberry jam or sliced strawberries
