Recipe Ingredients for Monkey Bread

3 1/4 cup bread flour
1/4 oz yeast
1 egg
1 cup water
2 tablespoons light margarine
1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe Directions for Monkey Bread

  1. (use 4 tablespoons of country crock) Regular margaine has twice the calories so I only put 2 in the above recipe to get the calorie count right)

  2. Use 2 unmelted in the receipe, use 2 melted for brushing).

  3. Greast a 10-inch bundt pan and set aside. Place 1/12 cups of the flour, the yeast, egg, water, margarine, sugar and salt in the bowl of a food processor. Process 2 minutes Add the remaining flour through the chut with the processor running to form a dough ball.

  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead 1 minute. Rooll into a 15' x 12' rectagle and brush with one tablespoon of the melted margarine.

  5. cut inot 1 1/2' squares and layer half of the pieces with the margarine side down in the prepared pan.

  6. Brush what is now the top of the dough in the pan with another tablespoon of the melted margarine. Repeat with the remaining dough and margarine. Cover and let rise in a warm place free from drafts 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
