Easy to make ahead and then bake at the last minute

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's stuffed green peppers

6 large green bell peppers
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup rice
1 onion, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
15 oz diced canned tomatoes
1/2 cup water

Recipe Directions for Mom's stuffed green peppers

  1. Cut of the tops of the green peppers.

  2. Chop the pepper tops and the onion

  3. Place the meat, onion and chopped pepper in a pan and cook until the meat is done

  4. Add the tomatoes, water, and rice

  5. Simmer for 25 minutes or until the rice is tender

  6. Stuff the peppers with the rice and meat mixture

  7. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. If you have extra stuffing cook it in a caserole dish with the peppers.
