My mom's spaghetti that has now become my recipe! You can either use bulk italian sausage or the kind in links. Mom always put the links in the sauce, but I have strayed and now I prefer to buy the links and remove the casing...

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Spaghetti

1 lb ground beef, 93% lean
1 lb italian sausage
56 oz crushed tomatoes
6 oz tomato paste
1 medium onion, diced
2 clove garlic
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3 tsp Italian seasoning

Recipe Directions for Mom's Spaghetti

  1. Brown beef & Onions

  2. Add all tomato products & garlic

  3. Add seasonings

  4. Add sausage links or par cooked sausage balls*

  5. Simmer all afternoon stirring occasionally

  6. *make balls from the italian sausage (remove casing from link or use bulk) and place on a rack on a foil lined sheet. Bake them for about 20 minutes at 350. This process releases some of the grease that would otherwise end up in your sauce.
