1 lb ground beef (85%lean) 1 pkg turkey gravy mix 1-2 cups frozen peas & carrots 4-5 russet potatoes, peeled, quartered, boiled 1/4 skim milk

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Quick Shepherd's Pie

1 serving ( 3 oz ) Beef, Ground, 85% Lean Meat / 15% Fat, Crumbles
1 cup(210 g) Potatoes, Mashed, Home-prepared, Whole Milk Added
1 serving Brown Gravy Mix
19 1/10 grams Peas

Recipe Directions for Mom's Quick Shepherd's Pie

  1. 1. Peels, quarter and boil potatoes until fork tender

  2. 2. Brown ground beef in skillet, break up or crumble with fork or spoon

  3. 3. Mix gravy packet and pour over beef, adjust water to perfered taste and thickness.

  4. 4. Mix in peas & carrots.

  5. 5. Set aside to simmer

  6. 6. Mash potatoes with skim milk

  7. For quick & simple serving scoup 1 cup mashed potatoes into plate.

  8. Pour 1/4 cup beef-gravy mixture over potatoes & serve.

  9. This keeps to 423 calories. (no cheese)

  10. More casserole like:

  11. Pour gravy mixture into casserole dish.

  12. Spoon and spread potatoes over top covering to edge of dish.

  13. Sprinkle with grated chedar cheese.

  14. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden. (cheese will add a few more calories) Serving size is the same.
