Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Potato Stew

3 oz Beef, Round, Top Round
1 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1 tsp Garlic Powder
3/4 medium White Onion
1 tsp Allspice, Ground
1 serving Worcestershire Sauce
1 wedge yields Lemon Juice
2 medium Carrots
6 medium (2-1/4" to 3-1/4" dia.) Potatoes, Boiled
0.13 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached

Recipe Directions for Mom's Potato Stew

Brown meat in a large saucepan. Add all the other ingredients except vegetables, cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water and simmer for 1-2 hours, til meat is tender. Add the vegetables and cook for 15-20 minutes, until tender. Mix cornstarch and 2 tb water, add to boiling stew and simmer for 15 minutes, until thickened. Makes 2 quarts.
