Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Potato Soup

1 stick butter
2 leeks, chopped
1/4 pound bacon, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
2 carrots, diced
6 potatoes, peeled and diced
10 cups water
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon
2 cups milk or nonfat half and half

Recipe Directions for Mom's Potato Soup

  1. saute leeks, bacon, celery, and carrots in butter until tender. 5-10 min.

  2. add water and bring to a boil.

  3. add potatoes and boil until tender (5-10 min)

  4. add half and half and heat through.

  5. add pepper to taste.
