Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Oatmeal Bread

1 cup quick oatmeal
2 packages yeast
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 cups boiling water
2 T Crisco
1 t salt
5 cups flour

Recipe Directions for Mom's Oatmeal Bread

  1. Pour boiling water over oatmeal, add sugar, salt, and Crisco.

  2. Let stand till lukewarm. Add yeast and flour; mix.

  3. Let rise, knead down and let rise again and put in greased loaf pans.

  4. Bake at 350 until brown. Makes 6 mini loaves.
