Recipe Ingredients for mom's lentil burgers

2 cup Lentils, Mature Seeds
1 cup Shredded Carrots
1 medium stalk, raw Celery
1 medium raw Onion Yellow
1 large Egg, Whole
1 cup Bread Crumbs, Dry, Grated, Plain
1 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Allspice, Ground
1 dash Salt, Table
1 dash Pepper, Black
1 tsp Butter

Recipe Directions for mom's lentil burgers

Grate fresh carrots, onions and celery, reserving all juices. Add allspice, salt, pepper, cooked lentils, bread crumbs, and eggs. Use just enough of the flour to make the mixture stick together. Form burgers using 3/4 C of mixture for each. Fry in 1 tsp. salted butter (or you can bake as a loaf). Serve! Optional: substitute white flour for wheat or cooked rice. For a smaller burger, use 1/2 C of mixture-- this will make 7 burgers at 117 calories each.
