Home-made lasagna is always the best, and the cottage cheese makes it taste better for kids than ricotta. This count is for a very large serving as well! 1/4 of a 8 x 8 pyrex dish!

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Lasagna

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 medium white onion
2 medium zucchini
6 cups marinara sauce
1 oz Lasagne pasta
3 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3 cups cottage cheese

Recipe Directions for Mom's Lasagna

  1. Chop the onion and place in large frying pan, add ground beef and brown.

  2. Once beef is browned and drained, add marinara sauce and chopped zucchini. Mix well.

  3. In large pyrex dish (9x13) or two small pyrex dishes (8 x8) (great if you want to make one and freeze one!) layer the lasagna in the following order:

  4. meat sauce, oven ready noodles, cottage cheese, mozzarella. Repeat this layering once. Top with one more layer of meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.

  5. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, uncovering for the last 15 minutes.

  6. If frozen, bake at 350 degrees for 1hr 15 minutes to 1 hr 45 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.
