Recipe Ingredients for Mom's green chile stew with pork

2 pounds pork loin, diced
2 onions, diced
1 tablespoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
7 poblano peppers, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 jalapeno pepper

Recipe Directions for Mom's green chile stew with pork

  1. rub a skillet with a little bit of olive oil and brown pork cubes.

  2. add all other ingredients except cornstarch and simmer for 45 minutes.

  3. in last 5 minutes or so, add the cornstarch to thicken if desired.

  4. remove the whole jalapeno before serving or dice and add at the beginning depending on degree of heat desired.
