Filling oatmeal with the pleasing taste of apples and cinnamon.

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Cinnamon and Apple Oatmeal Recipe

3 cups water
2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp unsalted butter
1 cup apple, diced
1 tsp salt (optional)
1 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Mom's Cinnamon and Apple Oatmeal Recipe

  1. Put water in a medium sized pan and add vanilla, sugar and butter. Turn heat to high. After water reaches full boil, pour in oats and stir for 1 minute.

  2. Add the cinnamon and apples (keep the skin on for added nutrients) and continue stirring.

  3. Pour in milk while stirring.

  4. Turn heat to simmer, cover and sit for 3 minutes, then stir.

  5. Turn off heat and let rest for 5 minutes covered.
