vegetarian chili. you can add morningstar's "meat" crumbles if you want. YUMMMM.

Recipe Ingredients for mom's chili

1 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
32 ounces canned stewed tomatoes
8 ounces dried black beans
4 ounces dried kidney beans
4 ounces dried pinto beans

Recipe Directions for mom's chili

  1. add onion & garlic; saute 5 minutes or until tender

  2. add sugar & remaining ingredients & bring to boil

  3. reduce heat & simmer for 30 minutes
