Banana Bread from a 1960's-era Better Homes and Gardens cookbook

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's Banana Bread

1 cup, mashed Bananas
2 large Egg, Whole
1/2 cup Sugars, Granulated
1 1/4 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Leavening Agents, Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
1/3 cup shortening

Recipe Directions for Mom's Banana Bread

  1. Cream together the shortening (it's 1/3rd cup) & sugar; add eggs and mix well

  2. Mash up banana (1 cup = roughly 2 large bananas)

  3. Add banana and dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix just until moistened.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes in a loaf pan (grease bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides).
