Great as dessert or breakfast great with cream cheese add nuts if you like (1 cup) THIS RECIPE MAKES 2 LOAVES

Recipe Ingredients for Mom's banana bread

2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (all purpose)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups milk (1%)
1 large egg
1 tbsp. orange peel (grated)
1 tsp. orange peel (grated)
3 medium bananas (mashed)
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)

Recipe Directions for Mom's banana bread

  1. Preheat 350 degrees

  2. grease bottom only of loaf pan (9x5x3)

  3. Mix all ingredients; beat 30 seconds

  4. Pour into pan;

  5. bake until wood stick inserted in center comes out clean.

  6. 9 inch loaf 55 - 65 minutes

  7. 8 inch loaf 55-60 minutes

  8. let cool slighly and loosen sides; remove from pan

  9. cool completely before slicing
