Delicious, moist cornbread made with whole wheat flour.

Recipe Ingredients for Moist Wheat Cornbread

3 tbsp applesauce
1/3 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup skim milk
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Moist Wheat Cornbread

  1. In a large bowl, mix together applesauce, oil, eggs, and milk.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients, then add to wet ingredients and mix well.

  3. Pour into greased 9x9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

  4. Note: You may use 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour instead of 1 cup whole wheat flour with the 1/2 cup all purpose flour.
