instead of salty peanuts, almonds were used to up the nutrition with healthy fats and no salt added. Confectioners' sugar dusted on top was also omitted.

Recipe Ingredients for Modified CRUNCHY cherry Bars

1 1/4 c bittersweet chocolate
3/4 c. milk chocolate
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. light corn syrup
4 small biscuits
8 ounces almonds
20 ounces marshmallows
2/3 cup candied cherries

Recipe Directions for Modified CRUNCHY cherry Bars

  1. Melt chocolate and butter with corn syrup in a heavy bottomed pan over low heat. Put buscuits (amaretti cookies) in a freezer bag and crush them with a rolling pin to get a mix of big crumbs and tiny pieces. Set cookies aside in a bowl. Crush nuts in same bag. Take pot off heat and add cookies nuts marshmallows and cherries. Turn carefully to coat everything with chocolate. pour mixture into a 9''x12'' pan lined with foil, smoothing top with a spatula. Refridgerate until firm (1-2 hrs). Transfer to a cutting boardand cut into 48 square-ish pieces.
