This one contains unsalted nuts AND omits the confectioners sugar. Although it is higher in calories & fat, it is because of the nuts which are a healthful ingredient; providing protein and healthy fats. For a dessert, it is not a bad option healthwise.

Recipe Ingredients for Modified Cherry Crunch Bar

1 1/4 c bittersweet chocolate
3/4 c. milk chocolate
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. light corn syrup
4 small biscuits
8 ounces brazil nuts
20 ounces marshmallows
2/3 cup candied cherries

Recipe Directions for Modified Cherry Crunch Bar

Melt chocolate and butter with corn syrup in a heavy bottomed pan over low heat. Put buscuits (amaretti cookies) in a freezer bag and crush them with a rolling pin to get a mix of big crumbs and tiny pieces. Set cookies aside in a bowl. Crush nuts in same bag. Take pot off heat and add cookies nuts marshmallows and cherries. Turn carefully to coat everything with chocolate. pour mixture into a 9''x12'' pan lined with foil, smoothing top with a spatula. Refridgerate until firm (1-2 hrs). Transfer to a cutting boardand cut into 48 square-ish pieces.
