Lebanese Lentil/Rice dish: quick, simple, healthy and cheap to make. One serving equals 1/2 c. Rice and lentils are listed in their dry amounts; when cooked a serving includes about a 1/4 c of each. Use about 1 c rice, 1 cup lentils, 1 lg onion, 1 T olive oil, about 4 c water, and salt to taste for a large batch.

Recipe Ingredients for Mjaddarah

0.08 c brown rice
0.09 c lentils
1 T cooked onion
1/16 t salt
0.03 clove garlic
1/20 T olive oil

Recipe Directions for Mjaddarah

If the rice used takes about the same amount of time to cook as the lentils all the ingredients can be combined and then boiled. Otherwise they can be cooked separately and then combined.
