Goes well with steamed veggies. Great in a bento box. Use a mild white miso or it may get too salty.

Recipe Ingredients for Misoyaki Chicken Breast

1 chicken breast, boneless and skinless
1 tbsp miso
1/2 oz (1 tbsp) sake
1/2 tsp brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Misoyaki Chicken Breast

  1. Cut chicken into 4-6 pieces.

  2. Mix remaining ingredients and place into a small ziploc bag. Add chicken and massage the bag to ensure all pieces are coated. Marinate 30 minutes or overnight.

  3. If marinating overnight, wipe excess miso paste form chicken before cooking.

  4. Add chicken pieces to medium-hot pan and cook for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another four minutes. Miso will turn dark and caramelize but be careful not to burn.
