Recipe Ingredients for minimalist pizza

1 package yeast
1/4 cup water, warm
1 cup water, cold
1 tsp salt
3 cups whole wheat flour
8 oz mozzarella cheese, part skim, shredded
8 oz tomato, diced
8 oz stir fry vegetables, diced
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano, fresh or dried
1/2 tsp basil, fresh or dried
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Recipe Directions for minimalist pizza

  1. Proof yeast in warm water for 5 minutes

  2. In large bowl, mix warm yeast mixture, cold water, salt and flour

  3. knead dough until elastic and continuous, about 7-10 minutes.

  4. halve dough, form tight balls.

  5. spray dough with olive oil spray and place in sealed refrigerated container for 4-12 hours.

  6. When ready to bake, let dough sit at room temperature 1 hour.

  7. preheat oven to 500 degrees.

  8. stretch each dough ball into a 12-14 inch shell

  9. sprinkle each shell with 4 oz cheese

  10. add pepper

  11. sprinkle each shell with 1/2 cup tomatoes and 1/2 cup stir fry mixed vegetables

  12. add remaining spices

  13. sprinkle tsp oil on each shell

  14. bake each pie on lowest rack of oven for 7-10 minutes or until cheese bubbles and begins to brown.
