This tastes a lot like Hamburger Helper, but homemade. Add Velveeta if you're not afraid of the calories. Use whatever kind of pasta you've got in the pantry.

Recipe Ingredients for Mince a la Hamburger Helper

2 tablespoons margarine
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups tomato juice
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup beef stock
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups uncooked rotini
1/2 cup sour cream

Recipe Directions for Mince a la Hamburger Helper

  1. Melt margarine in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat, and stir in the ground beef and onion. Cook until onion is tender and beef is evenly browned. Reduce heat to low.

  2. In a medium bowl, mix tomato juice, water, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, and pepper. Pour into the beef mixture.

  3. Stir pasta into the skillet. Cover, and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove the mixture from heat, and stir in sour cream.

  5. Serve hot with garlic bread and a glass of red wine.
