Mike's Protein Bars Recipe

Alteration of some common protein and granola bar recipes found on the web

Recipe Ingredients for Mike's protein bars

1 1/2 cups natural peanut butter
1 1/2 cups honey
6 tbs cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup whole almonds
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup wheat germ
280 grams whey powder
3/4 cups raisins
1/2 c dried mango
1/4 c Peanuts
1/8 c coconut flakes
1/2 dried apricots
1 cup craisins

Recipe Directions for Mike's protein bars

  1. Preheat oven to 325

  2. on a sheet pan begin toasting the almonds for 10 min.

  3. add the oats and toast for 15 min

  4. add the wheat germ and sesame seeds and toast for 10 min or until the sesame seeds begin to get some color.

  5. place the peanut butter and honey into a glass bowl and micro wave for 1 min.

  6. Add the cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla and mix

  7. Add all ingredients in a large bowl and knead until consistant

  8. press into a 9x9 foil lined pan or 2 foil lined bread pans and refridgerate until cool. Cut into 64 2 oz pieces.
