Recipe Ingredients for Mike's Banana Nut Bread

2 cups Gold Medal Whole Wheat Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter 50/50
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup egg beater
3/4 cup apple sauce
5 bananas
60 g Shelled Almonds

Recipe Directions for Mike's Banana Nut Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. Crush the almonds.

  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.

  4. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, apple sauce, and crushed almonds. Stir in egg beater, egg, and mashed bananas until well blended.

  5. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

  6. Bake in preheated oven for 65 to 70 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
