Slow cooker recipe - served with cous cous, it makes a very filling meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Middle Eastern Lamb

300 g lamb shoulder
1 medium bell pepper
1 medium onion
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 pinch salt
1/2 tsp pepper
425 ml water
1 stock cube
55 g red lentils
25 g raisins
25 g dates
1 tbsp lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Middle Eastern Lamb

  1. In a non stick pan, brown the lamb (no additional oil needed). Put in the slow cooker.

  2. Add the onion to the oil from the lamb in the frying pan and cook until browned.

  3. Stir in the flour, cumin, turmeric, salt and pepper.

  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the stock until the sauce thickens.

  5. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil.

  6. Pour over the lamb, cover and cook on low for 7 to 10 hours.
