Simplest pudding, can be prepped and cooked in 10 minutes with storecupboard ingredients if you fancy something sweet at night

Recipe Ingredients for Microwave Sponge Puddings

2 oz margarine
2 oz caster sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla essence
2 oz self raising flour
15 ml milk
3 tbsp golden syrup

Recipe Directions for Microwave Sponge Puddings

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar.

  2. Add the beaten egg and the vanilla essence. Stir in the flour and the milk.

  3. In the bottom of a 1 pint microwaveable pudding basin, put 3 tbsp syrup.

  4. Spoon the mixture on top. Cover with a plate.

  5. Cook for 3 - 4 minutes on high, until a skewer inserted into it comes out clean. Leave for 5 minutes before serving.
