Recipe Ingredients for Meringues

1 egg
50 g sugar, caster

Recipe Directions for Meringues

  1. Whisk egg white until foamy. Should form a stiff peak on end of the whisk and not fall off.

  2. Whisk in the sugar, one tablespoon at a time.

  3. Spoon onto baking parchment/silicon paper.

  4. Heat to gas mark 2 but turn down to gas mark 1 when they go in the oven. Bake for 45-60 minutes and leave to cool with door ajar for 30 minutes.
