Adds a Polish twist to an Italian-American staple. Serving size is a generous 1/2 cup (heaping!)

Recipe Ingredients for Melting pot pasta sauce

9 oz. polish sausage
4 sweet Italian sausage links
28 oz. whole tomatoes (canned)
23 1/2 oz. pasta sauce (jar)
2 yellow onions, chopped
1/4 cup minced garlic
2 green peppers, chopped
2 red peppers, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil

Recipe Directions for Melting pot pasta sauce

  1. Grill or pan-fry Italian sausage. Remove from pan and discard grease.

  2. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until onion is soft.

  3. Add green and red peppers and cook until barely softened.

  4. Add pasta sauce and canned tomatoes (hand-crush tomatoes as you add them).

  5. Cut sausage into bite sized pieces and add to the sauce.

  6. Season (salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning -- all optional) to taste, and cook (covered) over low heat until polish sausage is cooked and flavors combine.
