This variation on Texas Red Chili with Beans takes on a bit of Cincinnati flavor with the addition of cinnamon.

Recipe Ingredients for Melissa's Texas-By-Way-Of-Cincinnati Chili

2 pounds ground turkey
1 large onion, chopped
6 stalks celery, chopped
1 tbsp. Minced garlic
1 tbsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp cumin
32 oz. tomatoes, canned, diced
31 oz Brooks Chili Beans - Hot
30 oz. tomato sauce, canned

Recipe Directions for Melissa's Texas-By-Way-Of-Cincinnati Chili

  1. Brown ground beef and pour off fat.

  2. Add celery, onion, and garlic and fry until onions are translucent.

  3. Add remaining and simmer. In last 5 minutes of cooking, taste and adjust spices and seasoning. You may need to add more chili powder and cumin.

  4. Simmer at least 20 minutes until cooked through and bubbly.

  5. Note: Rinse all cans with a little water and swirl to get as much of the ingredients as possible into the pot.
