Recipe Ingredients for Mediterranean Pita Pizza

16 oz Beef, Ground, 90% Lean Meat / 10% Fat, Crumbles
8 serving sara lee whole wheat pita 1 pocket
1 medium raw Onion Yellow
4.656 oz Tomato Sauce No Salt Added
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
0.5 tsp Pepper, Black
1 large whole (3" dia) Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
6 tbsp Sliced Olives

Recipe Directions for Mediterranean Pita Pizza

  1. Pre heat oven to 375 F Bake 4 large whole wheat pitas on a cookie sheet for 5 minutes until crisp

  2. Mix

  3. 2 cups cooked ground beef (10% fat) well crumbled

  4. 1 medium onion minced

  5. 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  6. 1 tsp dried oregano

  7. 1 tsp dried basil

  8. 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper

  9. Combine in seperate bowl

  10. 1 large tomato, chopped

  11. 1 cup Weight watchers four cheese Italian blend or substitute Veggie shreds for a nondairy version.

  12. Prepare garnish of 1/3 black olives, sliced

  13. Layer a quarter of the meat filling onto each pita, then do the same with the tomato/cheese blend mixture. Sprinkle tops with sliced olives. Bake 10-15 minutes.
