Filipino dish - similar to ghoulash

Recipe Ingredients for Mechado

1 kg beef, sliced
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 onion, chopped
8 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tbspn tomato paste
1 kg potatoes, halved and deep fried
2 red peppers, diced
1 carrot, sliced

Recipe Directions for Mechado

  1. Slice beef spare ribs into 1 inch size.

  2. Add in a pot with chopped tomatoes, onion and garlic.

  3. Add soy sauce and just a little bit of water.

  4. Let it simmer in low fire until beef is very tender.

  5. To thicken sauce, add tomato paste to taste.

  6. Add fried cubed potatoes and diced capsicum.
