My Italian mother's perfect Italian meatballs. Fabulous with pasta or in subs.

Recipe Ingredients for Meatballs

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 cup italian-style bread crumbs
3/4 c water
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 eggs
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 c parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Meatballs

  1. Soak bread crumbs in water

  2. combine all ingredients

  3. roll into tablespoon-sized balls. To keep from sticking to your hands wet one palm slightly every couple of meatballs. this will also help them from falling apart as your fry them.

  4. Fry about about 15-20 at a time in a large pan in 2 or 3 tbls of olive oil. For a healthy alternative, bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes. Or brown in a pan then add to your simmering spaghetti sauce for an hour or so.
