Made with oatmeal, 12% or less fat in ground beef although these statistics are for using 15% fat, no salt and non fat broth for a healthier version.

Recipe Ingredients for Meat Loaf

2 pounds
1 cup oatmeal
1 tablespoons minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon sage
1 dash thyme
1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1/2 cup beef broth
1 pinch celery seed

Recipe Directions for Meat Loaf

  1. Mix oatmeal and spices together and add to meat.

  2. Beat egg slightly and mix with liquid ingredients and then mix it all together with your hands.

  3. Shape into loaf in a greased glass pan.

  4. Cook at 375 degrees an hour and 15 minutes or more until done.
