This recipe is lower in fat and calories than it says because of the swiss cheese, and use part skim mozzarella.

Recipe Ingredients for Meat and Cheese Stuff

1 medium onion, sliced into rings
1 green pepper, sliced into rings
8 whole wheat pitas, 6"
1/2 pound turkey, shaved
1/2 pound ham, shaved
8 ounces mozzarella, sliced thin
8 ounces cheese, swiss sliced thin

Recipe Directions for Meat and Cheese Stuff

  1. Cut 8 whole wheat pitas in half so they look kind of like hamburger buns ( so you can stack the top on the bottom)

  2. On the top of each bottom slice put equal amounts of onion, green pepper, turkey, ham, mozzarella, and swiss.

  3. Put the "lid" on each pita.

  4. Wrap each stuffed pita in foil.

  5. Bake in the oven at 400 for 10 minutes.
