Recipe Ingredients for Meanies Homemade Stuffed Cabbage

1 cup rice, cooked
1 1/3 lb turkey, ground
32 oz Tomato Sauce
2 garlic clove
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp tarragon
1/2 tbsp parsley
20 leaf,+large cabbage leaves

Recipe Directions for Meanies Homemade Stuffed Cabbage

  1. Blanch and set aside 20 large to med sized cabbage leaves to be used for rolling around the meat and rice mixture.

  2. Open two cans of no salt added tomato sauce and set aside.

  3. Combine all other ingredients in a large mixing bowl with 1/3 of one of the cans of tomato sauce.

  4. Place 1 to 2 large tablespoon fulls of the meat rice mix onto a large (or two small) cabbage leaves. Roll leaf around mixture and place in a roaster or baking pan seam sides down. Continue until mixture is finished.

  5. Cover liberally with remaining tomato sauce and one can of water.

  6. Bake in 375 F oven for 45 - 60 minutes.
