Recipe Ingredients for meal replacement cookie bars

2 cups oats
2 cups bran flakes
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup splenda
1/4 cup almonds, chopped
2 tsp cinnamon
2/3 cup applesauce
1/2 cup margarine, slightly melted
3/4 cup egg beaters
3 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup dried blueberries
1 large apple
2 bananas
1/2 cup strawberries

Recipe Directions for meal replacement cookie bars

  1. Makes 20 bars

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  3. After mixing as indicated below, press into a 13" by 9" pan lined with parchment paper

  4. In a large bowl, add the following:

  5. 2 cups oats

  6. 2 cups bran flakes (plain, enriched)

  7. 1 cup whole wheat flour

  8. 1/2 tsp salt

  9. 2 tsp baking soda

  10. 1/4 cup splenda (or other sweetener)

  11. 1/4 cup almonds, chopped or sliced

  12. 2 tsp cinnamon

  13. Mix around slightly then add:

  14. 2/3 cup applesauce

  15. 1/2 cup margarine, slightly melted

  16. 3/4 cup egg beaters

  17. 3 tsp vanilla extract

  18. 3/4 cup raisins

  19. 1/4 cup dried cranberries

  20. 1/4 cup dried blueberries

  21. 1 large apple, finely chopped

  22. 2 bananas, finely chopped

  23. 1/2 cup strawberries, finely chopped

  24. Mix well with a spoon for several minutes.

  25. Press into a 13" by 9" pan lined with

  26. parchment paper.

  27. Bake on a middle rack for approximately 15 minutes.

  28. Then shut off over and allow to sit in over for another

  29. 2 to 5 minutes.

  30. Remove and allow to cool for a short time.

  31. Cut into 20 bars.
