Matzo ball soup with veggies and noodles added. Egg noodles can also be used.

Recipe Ingredients for Matzo Ball Soup

16 cups Chicken Stock
3 Carrots, peeled and sliced thin
3 stalks Celery (Chopped)
1 tablespoon Thyme
1 pound Orzo Pasta
4 tablespoons Fat, rendered (chicken fat)
4 large Eggs, slightly beaten
116 grams Matzo Meal (1 Cup)
4 tablespoons Chicken Stock

Recipe Directions for Matzo Ball Soup

  1. Mix chicken fat, eggs, matzo meal and 4 tablespoons chicken stock in small bowl. Refrigerate in covered bowl 1 hour.

  2. Form mixture into 1 inch balls and boil in chicken stock for 30- 40 minutes.

  3. Remove matzo balls to bowl and add carrots, celery thyme and salt to taste. Boil 10 minutes. Add orzo pasta and boil 10 min longer.

  4. Add Matzo balls and cook additional 2-3 minutes until matzo balls are heated through.
