Recipe Ingredients for Mashed Potatoes

5 large potatoes
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup salted butter

Recipe Directions for Mashed Potatoes

  1. Peel potatoes; chop into 1-inch cubes. Place in large saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil. Boil 20 minutes, or until potato pieces are soft when pricked with a fork (for lumpier mashed potatoes, reduce boiling time.)

  2. Remove from heat; drain. Begin to mash potato pieces, slowly adding milk and butter until creamy. Serve with salt and pepper if desired.
