Instead of ground beef, try this easy to make tilapia burger. Wonderful and tasty! Children love it!!!

Recipe Ingredients for Mary's Smoked Tilapia Burgers

12 oz tilapia fillets
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green peppers
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp basil leaves
1 tbsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp liquid smoke
1/4 cup shredded colby jack cheese
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Recipe Directions for Mary's Smoked Tilapia Burgers

  1. Thaw tilapia fillets and place in food processor

  2. Add all other ingredients to food processor and process until mixture starts to make a ball.

  3. Remove from processor and shape into patties.

  4. Lightly coat grill or skillet with olive oil and cook each pattie until golden brown on each side.

  5. Serve on your choice of bread and garnish with lettuce, tomato, pickles, or whatever you choose.

  6. Enjoy!
