Recipe Ingredients for mary vickers appetizer (Original)

4 oz sliced almonds
1 cup mayonnaise
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese
12 english muffins
1 onion diced
8 ounces bacon

Recipe Directions for mary vickers appetizer (Original)

  1. cook bacon til crisp and crumble it

  2. preheat oven to 400f

  3. remove all crusts from bread and spread each slice with a mixture of all ingredients.

  4. cut bread into strips or shapes

  5. if desired, freeze on a baking sheet, place in plastic bags and store in freezer until needed.

  6. to serve, bake for 10 minutes or until brown (cheese is bubbly)

  7. the muffins make 40 pieces, they can be halved again if dainty pieces are required.

  8. ps. i use English muffins cut in half. spread each half with mixture. put half on cookie sheet and freeze for 15 minutes; then put wax paper between tow one half of muffin and stack in plastic bags and store in freezer. take out of freezer, place each half on cookie sheet for 15 minutes. they are then easier to cut in quarters. bake as above.
