A family favorite. You can control the amount of fat by reducing the amount of oil used in the pan, but they won't taste quite as good!

Recipe Ingredients for Marty's Buttermilk Pancakes

1 egg
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
2 tbs oil
1 cup flour
1 tbs sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs oil

Recipe Directions for Marty's Buttermilk Pancakes

  1. Beat egg in small bowl. Add buttermilk and oil, and stir to combine.

  2. In a larger bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, and stir until just moistened. Don't worry, there will be some lumps.

  4. Let sit for 5 minutes.

  5. Heat a pan over medium heat until a drop of water sprinkled on the surface dances across it. Add 1/2 tablespoon oil to the pan, and then add 1/4 cup of batter to the pan for each pancake. Make sure to leave at least 1/2 inch between each pancake.

  6. Flip pancakes once you see small bubbles on the surface. Cook for 1-2 minutes more.
