My version of my MIL's version of a recipe given to her by her MIL (who's maiden name was Martin). Serving size 1 cup

Recipe Ingredients for Martin Stew

6 cups tomato juice
4 cups water
8 oz Mushrooms
2 1/2 cups dry macaroni
2 cups frozen peas
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Martin Stew

  1. In large pot bring juice, water, mushrooms and onion powder to boil.

  2. Add macaroni and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 9 minutes.

  3. Add peas and heat through. Salt and pepper to taste (between the salt already added to the juice and the mushrooms in canning, you may not need any more!).
